Objective of the 12th Asia Pacific Conference

The 12th APRSCP is to foster dialogue and partnerships among multi-stakeholders about developing and implementing innovative policy solutions, up-scaling technology and knowledge benchmarking, approaches and instruments towards the development and implementation of programmes on SCP in the region. Specific objectives of the 12th APRSCP are as follows:

Share progress and promote best practices, programs, local initiatives and lessons learned on SCP related initiatives and green growth, green economy and sustainable development related policies and activities for the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Asia and the Pacific region

Identify synergies and build cooperation to engage actively in the development and implementation of the 10YFP Roadmap on Asia and the Pacific.

Share experiences and lessons learned in scaling up existing and new resource efficiency and SCP strategies, tools and approaches through research and information awareness, capacity building, innovative financing, and monitoring and evaluation.

Define future green sustainability in Asia and Asia Pacific region through the issuance of the ANGKOR Declaration on Future Green Sustainability as the political commitment towards the achievement of the sustainable development Agenda 2030.

Travel and Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) arrangements

UNEP provides a round-trip air ticket for sponsored participants to arrive in Siem Reap on 11th July 2016 and return on 15th July 2016. For further inquiry related to travel arrangements, please, contact

The DSA for UNEP-supported participants will be provided in US dollars per existing U.N. rules and regulations for the duration of the meeting. In order to facilitate the payment of the DSA, eligible participants are requested to submit copies of their passport, boarding pass(es) together with their air tickets for verification.

Visa

All visitors, except citizens of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, need a visa to enter Cambodia. The official price for a tourist visa is US$20, and US$25 for an ordinary visa. Visa can be obtained at Cambodian embassies or consulates in your country; however, it is also available ‘on arrival’ at international airports, all six international border crossings with Thailand, some international border crossings with Vietnam, and at the main border crossing with Laos.

Entry Type: Single entry only
Fees: USD 20.00+ USD 5.00 (processing fee)
Validity: 3 months (starting from the date of issuance)
Length of Stay: 30 days
Processing Time: 3 business days
Requirement: Valid passport at least 6 months from the date of expiration, recent passport-size photograph in digital format (JPEG or PNG), valid credit card (Visa/Master Card/American Express/Discover)
Visa Exemption: Laos, Malaysia, Philippines Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia

Diplomatic, Official, Courtesy and Special (Cambodian national) visas are issued gratis.

Participants requiring a visa for entering the Kingdom of Cambodia are advised to confirm their travel arrangements as soon as possible since they may require airline return tickets in order to obtain a visa.

The average maximum temperature in Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia in July is 32-36 °C.

Siem Reap is +7:00 hours ahead of GMT.

Electricity
The electric voltage in Kingdom of Cambodia is 220 volts, 50 Hertz. The most common plugs are two pin plugs.

Currency
The official currency of Kingdom of Cambodia is the Cambodian Riel (KHR).  1 USD is approximately equal to about 4,010 KHR. However, US Dollars are mostly accepted as payments.

Currency exchange services are available at the Airport, hotel, banks, ATM and currency exchange booths scattered in the vicinity of the hotel.  The use of Credit Cards is widely accepted in Cambodia.
